Marshall Strabala, born in 1961, is a highly experienced architect with 34 years of architectural expertise. He holds an undergraduate degree in Design and Fine Arts from UCLA and a graduate degree from Harvard GSD with a Master of Architecture. Marshall is an affiliated fellow of the American Academy in Rome and has spent 19 years at SOM Chicago, where he served as an Associate Partner and Studio Head. He also worked as the Director of Design at Gensler for 4 years before founding his own firm, Strabala + Architects, where he has been the Design Partner for the past 11 years. Marshall is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of various esteemed organizations, including the CTBUH Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, USGBC – Chicago/Houston, AIA American Institute of Architects, and the Shanghai Institute of Architects. He has been recognized with awards such as the Magnolia Silver Award from the City of Shanghai in 2021 and the Best Hotel/Resort Design Award for Achievements in Hotel Design in 2022. Marshall has delivered over 80 lectures on architecture worldwide and currently resides between Shanghai and Chicago.

He has authored over one hundred publications, been a keynote speaker in international conferences, and conducted over 100 capacity building seminars, workshops, and training programs in collaboration with academic and professional institutions. In over 15 years of his professional experience, Mr. Aung has been involved in over 100 tall building projects. In these projects Mr. Aung has led the structural engineering team at AIT Solutions and provided solutions and services in: wind engineering studies, performance-based seismic design, and real-time structural health monitoring and involved in structural engineering projects from Philippines, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Brunei. He has also led wind engineering teams at AIT Solutions to enhance the reliability and cost effectiveness of structural design especially for unique or unusual architectural shapes.
